Therefore, according to this belief, any average person should be able to go out and purchase a nice camera and begin taking professional pictures immediately. So here’s the question: Can amateur photographers take professional quality pictures?
The history of photography would argue against that belief. True photographers must go to school to study the medium of photography in order to really grasp and understand the art as a whole. There are too many stories of people believing that they can indeed take professional quality pictures even though they have no experience. These people will not hire photographers for special occasions and family pictures and will instead opt to do it themselves. What they come out with are pictures that lack quality and expertise.

You will be happier with the end result and you will not be able to dread others seeing the poor pictures you thought you could take.
This does not mean that you should throw away your camera; quite the opposite. For those everyday, spur of the moment pictures you take, keep your camera handy.
