Like most folks these days, we have to watch our budgets whenever and whereever we can. The beautiful wedding we dreamed of comes with a price tag, and that price tag got higher and higher as we planned our wedding.

Still, we didn’t want to sacrifice quality. The food, the dress, the flowers will all be gone in just a few weeks’ time, but wedding photographs are forever. They capture it all.

We didn’t want to scrimp on photography. Our wedding photographs meant everything to both of us, and to our families.

I want to thank you for helping my husband and me find the perfect wedding photographer! The photos exceeded my expectations.

To be honest, I was a little afraid of trusting a photographer that I’d found online. You’d think that I’d be able to find a good one through references from my friends. But one couple I knew had their photographer mess up the submission to their hometown newspaper. Another set of friends used a photographer who promised “real film” prints and then left the special effects lens on. Every single one of their chapel photos was a misty shot! I kid you not. So you can see why choosing a photographer was one of my least favorite tasks of wedding planning. It turned out that I worried needlessly.

The photos of Matt’s, my husband’s family came out especially well. His folks are getting up in years, and his dad always hated having his picture taken, so things were a little slim on that side of the family photo collection. But now, even if our children-to-be never get to know their grandparents, we have some wonderful family pictures that we can pass along to them.

I am thrilled with the way all our formal shots came out. But I’ve got to say that some of the candid shots are my favorite! I have a niece who thinks she’s a diva, (she is actually three, but hasn’t fully outgrown her terrible twos!) Our photographer captured her expression just as she figured out what the chocolate fountain was for—and it is priceless!

You can probably tell that family is really important to me, and our photographer really got that. He didn’t try to talk me into some uncomfortable avant-garde pose that just isn’t me. I really appreciate that he cared more about what Matt and I wanted than about building his résumé. We may have contracted for a wedding photographer, but I feel as if we got a family photographer, a portraiture photographer, and a historical archivist as well.

We will be hiring an experienced professional to record our wonderful day. We would like pictures of every aspect of our wedding. We want to be able to relive the day forever through your wonderful art. The right, experienced wedding photographer will be able to provide the proper support to capture the moment without intrusion to the party. The photographer should blend into the background and not use a paparazzi style. Some suggestions of wanted photos are the brides clothing laid out before the wedding, the bride fixing her hair and makeup, the bride with bridesmaids and women. For the grooms before the ceremony pictures, we would like the groom tying his tie, the groom and his best man and all the men.Then we would like pictures of the bride and groom waiting to walk down the aisle. We will want the normal ceremony pictures of the bridal party entering the ceremony, the father and bride walking down the aisle, the groom as he sees the bride, the rings, the kiss, and the walk back down the aisle as husband and wife. We would also like some candid shots of our guests during the ceremony. After the wedding we would like the photographer to only have a few still photos that haven’t been accomplished due to tradition. We would like to join our guest at our reception as soon as possible, but still be able to commemorate the day. We were already spending so much time on our wedding and trying to organize each individual part of it that the thought of having to call multiple photographers, explain exactly what it was that we needed, meet and interview them in turn and then negotiate on the price was just overwhelming.
