This book covers all the bases in digital photography from the basics to getting the most out of Photoshop. It is great for beginners but also has a ton of useful tips for the season pro. A must have if you want to seriously work in digital photography.

4)Window Seat by Julieanne Kost

This book details the creative process and how to be more creative in your photos. It is a guide to the digital tools needed for great photography. It details the best ways to capture a moment to how to manipulate an image. This book will help anyone take more creative and unique photos.

5)The Practical Guide To Photographic Lighting For Film and Digital Photography by Jon Tarrant

This covers lighting for beginners all the way to experts. It covers the fundamentals, lighting accessories, and equipment needed in order to light your photos perfectly. Though primarily aimed at film photography, it has a lot of great tips and information on digital photography as well.
